Theme:

This week, we will focus on the letter Pp and the number 20. We will create a word wall of “Pp” words,” learn the correct formation when writing this letter and number and explore the number bonds that can make the number 20.

Science:

We will explore our solar system and the planets.  Like good scientists, we will ask questions like which planet is closer to the sun? We will create a windsock with the planets of our solar system.

STEM:

Our STEM challenge this week is to create a rainbow out of Play-Doh, pipe cleaners and fruit loops. Each student will have a worksheet with math problems and depending on how many they answer correctly, they will then build their rainbow.

Phonics:

We are working on our 3rd Bob book(Dot) and on Tim in the phonics series.  We will also write a sentence describing what we would do if we found a pot of gold.

Special Notes

  • We will be baking Irish soda bread in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day🍀
  • We will tie-dye shirts in preparation for our spring celebration in the upcoming week.
  • We are celebrating Holi,  a colorful Hindu festival which is usually celebrated in           northern India and Nepal; it marks the coming of Spring.
  •  Turtle Man is visiting TCLA on the 17th
