Welcome to another amazing week in Kindergarten! There are quite a few fun and exciting things planned. This week on Tuesday, we will celebrate Two’sDay, 2/22/22. The children will be presenting their Time Capsules to the class before I seal them – not to be opened until Thursday, 3/3/33. Wednesday, 2/23/22 will mark our 100th Day of School. I am looking forward to seeing all the poster boards the children decorated for this special day! Please encourage your child to dress up. I’ve discussed with them that they can dress up as a 100-year-old person on Wednesday. Be creative. Have fun with this. YOLO!!

Reading:
The reading groups are working together like a well-oiled machine.
- They are very comfortable breaking up into small groups. Other times they read independently and 1-on-1 with me.
- They have recently begun to buddy up with a friend and read to/listen to their book (They are not always in the same reader! I love this)
- We have students in various stages of reading levels, and all are progressing nicely towards their next book. I am so proud of each of them for the time & commitment they are putting into reading.
- It is so heartwarming to see these little people taking charge of their reading time.
- I can hear their confidence with every sentence they read!
Writing:
Journal entries –
- I will hide my Time Capsule…
- When I’m 100 years old…

When handing in the reading time sheets, please be sure to record ONLY the minutes read, NOT the names of the books read!
THANK YOU for helping your Children with the overload of at home projects these last few weeks. It was just bad luck that both of those special days fell in the same week. I appreciate your continued support in all things Kindergarten…on that note, buckle up for the St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Trap…details will be sent home at a later date!
