Our Theme: Shapes
This week our theme will be shapes. The children will learn/review and color one shape every day. We will be using flash cards and worksheets to learn our basic shapes. We will create a Triangle Tree and glue small pieces of triangular paper as leaves to reinforce motor skills and, in addition, the students will engage in sort by shape crafts. The children are enjoying playing with play-doh. The squeezing and rolling of play-doh strengthens the muscles in the fingers to help develop better fine motor strength and control which is needed for grip.
We continue daily to review our letters, shapes, numbers, colors, days of the week and months along with singing the ABC phonics song to help develop letter and number recognition.
