Our Theme: Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Welcoming Spring!

This week the children begin to look for the upcoming signs of spring. We will discuss the different seasons throughout the year, and the changes that take place all around us as we hope to leave winter behind and welcome spring next week. The children will understand that these observations can be made through our senses which we will explore through: creating fun hands-on crafts, becoming scientists and mixing spring colors, and waking up the “hibernating bears.” The children have been working hard to build their fine motor skills and are really showing progress with their alphabet and number recognition. Please continue to reinforce and practice these skills at home. This week we will explore St. Patrick’s Day by: enjoying some “lucky treats”, counting “golden coins” in our pot of gold, and have fun learning letters with “Leprechaun Letter Match.”

If anyone would like to send in St. Patrick’s Day treats, Irish soda bread, green bagels(Tuesday), or cookies that would be wonderful. Thanks to those who volunteered already! Please wear green to school on these days.
  2. Next week we will be holding optional parent/teacher conferences on Monday and Wednesday. These will take place during the school day or via telephone. If you have questions about placement for next year, concerns, etc. please sign up.
