Welcome back Pre-K Families! We hope you enjoyed your mini break and had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

This week we will be busy working hard on multiple  holiday projects. We will be discussing December Holidays and the different  celebrations they all bring.

This week we will learning the letter Ll the number 7 and the color red.

We will start our reading with Alphatales and use the book as our springboard for our “word wall”.

While focusing on the number 7 this week, students will not only be writing the number, but also recognizing what a group of 7 looks like. We have discussed and will continue to discuss that a number represents a group of “something”.

This Wednesday we plan on starting reading groups, your child should come home with some paperwork from his/ hers reading group teacher.

We will be using our literature as inspiration for some of our crafts for the approaching holidays. We will start with Jan Brett The Hat and continue with The Little Red Hen by Paul Galdone  and The Lion Who Wanted To Love by Giles Andreac  we read this two stories together and compare and contrast the two. We will continue with A Letter To Amy by Ezra Jack Keats(another favorite) we will use this story as inspiration for our own letter to “Sant” asking for one wish and one toy.

My Lucky Day by Keiko Kasza we will discuss what we would consider “our” lucky day to be.

Leo the Late Bloomer by Robert Kraus we will join in conversation as to how we bloomed since starting school this year.
