Pre-K Highlights October 21st – October 25th
Weekly Theme: Apples and Autumn Weekly Letter: Aa Weekly Number: 3
This week in Pre-K we will continue learning all about the season of Autumn and apples. We will learn how apples grow and the steps it takes to grow an Apple Tree. We will have an apple taste challenge to graph and analyze which apple our class likes the most and the least. The letter we are learning this week is A. As a class, we will create a new list of words that begin with this letter for our word wall. To help us think of words, we will first read our Alphatales book and the “A section” of our children’s dictionary. The students will be taught both the long vowel sound and the short vowel sound of this letter. We will learn how to properly form an uppercase and lowercase letter A. We will create a “letter A apple” and even make our own apple scented Salt Dough play-doh. Our number this week is three. Students will learn how to properly form this number by singing the rhyme; “Around the tree, around the tree, that is how we make a three.” Using a tens graph, we will recognize what to group of three things looks like. Please continue to practice numbers zero, one, and two at home with your child. Next Thursday is Halloween, please take a look at our class party list that is next to the sign-in sheets. Thank you for contributing! Please send your child to school on Halloween wearing his/her costume (no weapons). You are welcome to bring a change of clothes for your child to change into after our parade and party.Weekly Literature:
