Pre-K Highlights October 14th – October 18th

Weekly Theme: Germs and Healthy Bodies Weekly Letter: Gg Weekly Number: 2

Hello Pre-K Families! Welcome to another exciting week in Pre-K. This week we will be learning all about germs and how to keep our bodies healthy. Our discussions will include what germs are, how we can keep germs away, the importance of hand washing, and what we can do to keep our bodies healthy. We will be making our own hand soap from scratch after we talk about the steps included in washing our hands. Some crafts that we will create are painting our own germs using our “crazy paint brushes,” making fake boogers with paint and glue, and we will make glitter germs using our hands. Our letter of the week is Gg. Students will come up with a list of words that begin with our letter to add to our word wall. We will practice handwriting our letter G’s all week in unique ways like using play doh, tracing in our colored sand trays, and also writing in a rainbow pattern. We will be strengthening our fine motor skills while we match flowers into a garden, find letter g beads in our letter box using tweezers, create a letter G garden and color our letter g pictures. We will be moving a lot this week during creative movement to practice exercising for a healthy body. We will be using exercise cards, having races, dancing with GoNoodle™, posing with our letter G yoga cards, and practicing our balance.
