Highlights for the week of
October 7-11th
Theme: Fall
Letter: Ii
Number: 1/one
Fall is here with cooler weather, pumpkin spice and apple everything! This is a time for apple picking at local orchards, finding Halloween costumes, playing in leaves and corn mazes. Can you tell I love this season? We will be diving right into our theme of fall with autumn-themed crafts this week; we will create apple baskets to improve fine motor skills as well as to experience apple painting and weaving. This week will be filled with nature walks, leaf rubbing and apples. It is a great week to envelop all of their senses in each lesson and activity. An example of this is the apple. It will be fully explored: how it is grown, what it feels like, different sizes, colors, how does it smell, how does it taste, how we can use it in art… the list is endless and so much fun! We will continue our exploration of the alphabet this week with the letter Ii. The Alphatales Ii book: Iguana on Ice by Carol Pugliano-Martin will be our introduction to the letter to help us create our class “Ii” list and to introduce us to both the short and long /Ii/ sound. Our number this week is one (1) and our shape is the square. Looking forward to a fabulous Fall week! Mrs. MReminders:
