Dear Parents,
Welcome to our school! Our Meet & Greet was a huge success. It was a pleasure meeting everyone on Thursday. We are excited for the upcoming school year and looking forward to all the fun things the children will do and learn!
Our first day will begin on Monday, September 9th. After arrival, the children will socialize through play. After self-selected open centers the children will be introduced to each other through games and songs. The children will work on strengthening find motor skill by using play-doh.
Our crafts for the week will be the children’s hand prints. These activities will help strengthen their fine motor skills as well as their listening skills.
We strongly recommend that you leave your child after the drop off as it makes things easier for the child and for the class to establish routines.
The literature that we will be using for the first week is focusing on classroom routines, sharing, and separation:
* Maisy Goes to Preschool by Lucy Cousins
* I’ll Always Come Back! by Steve Metzger
* It’s My Turn! by David Bedford & Elaine Field
* Take Turns, Penguin! by Jeanne Willis & Mark Birchall
* No More Hitting for Little Hamster! by Bernette Ford
Reminders:
- Please remember to sign your child in/out of school every day. The clipboard for our class is located on the cabinet by the front door of the classroom.
- Please send in one (1) 4×6 family photo as well as one (1) 4×6 individual photo of your child.
We hope that you had a wonderful weekend. We look forward to seeing you on Monday.
Warm Regards,
Lauren Lazzaro, Christina Sciascia & Kristin Tramutola
