May 8, 2019 8:02 pm Dear Parents,   We hope you have a Happy Mother’s Day and are enjoying the warmer weather. From now to the end of year is a very busy time!   No school Friday, May 24th and Monday, May 27th in observance of Memorial Day. Marlboro Township Public Schools just announced that it is closing schools on Friday, May 24th since only two of the three snow days were taken this year. In anticipating low attendance on that day (as we have experienced in the past) we will also close on May 24th in alignment with the township’s schedule. Camp Turtle Creek – Still enrolling If you still have not decided about summer camp for your child, please consider enrolling your child in our summer camp program.  It is so well suited for the preschool child. The groups are small, the curriculum is engaging and lots of fun, the teachers are wonderful, and, most importantly, your child will be in a safe and secure environment. We offer mini and full day options as well as our campers participate in swim lessons at the Freehold YMCA on Friday afternoons.  It’s a perfect place for your child to be during the summer months. See Lisa to enroll. Carnival/Open House – Thursday, June 6th 5:30-7:00pm This is always a fun evening! A big shout out to Ms. Krachie and the kindergarten students who will be operating their lemonade stand to raise money for Stomp the Monster, our favorite charity.  We will have  Carnival games, prizes, face painting, cotton candy and a great inflatable obstacle course! It is a great way to celebrate this wonderful community we are lucky to be part of! Please feel free to bring a friend that would like to see how amazing our school is! This is one of my favorite events we host. Half Day on Wednesday, June 12th– No School on Thursday, June 13th Please remember that there is no school on Wednesday, June 12th afternoon and all day Thursday, June 13th. Our teachers need this time to finish their paperwork, clean their rooms, and set up for the graduation exercises. Because of the school wide cleaning, there will be no after care on Wednesday. I apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you. Graduation – Friday – June 14th You will be  sent a schedule of the graduation events for  Friday, June 14th. The two year old class (Ms. Kristin, Ms. Priya and Ms. Christina’s class) will  start at 9:00; the three year old (Mrs. Cappelluti and Ms. Tara’s class)  start at 9:30; Pre-K (Ms. Martorano’s class and Mrs. G & Ms. Kasey’s classes) will begin at 10:15. Our kindergarteners start at 11:15.  Please come 5-10 minutes early so your children can line up and get situated before performance time. We will not wait if you are late.  After each performance, there will be refreshments served in the cafeteria at Monmouth Worship Center (right down the road on Vanderburg). You will be given access to the slideshow via a link you can download.  Our teachers have worked very hard to select the pictures and songs that accompany the photos. You will love it! We also ask that mothers, fathers, and siblings take the front rows of the sanctuary where the performance take place.  We ask that other guests and even grandparents sit further back.   The venue is large so please feel free to invite loved ones to share in the day.  Please be considerate in your seating and in standing and blocking other people’s views when taking pictures. Thank you in advance. End of Year- For those students who are continuing, we thank you for your trust in us and to allow us another opportunity to be important in the life of your child. You will be receiving updates and correspondence throughout the summer from myself and your child’s teacher. For those of you who are leaving and going on to other schools, we want to remind you that you will always be family to us. We would love to keep in touch. We’d love it if your child would come back and read a story for their old class. We are sincerely privileged to have had a role in your life and to have helped your child learn and grow. We take this responsibility very seriously and are humbled by the part we have played this year. Thank you again for all that you have done. I hope you leave Turtle Creek with fond memories and a high respect for the hard work of educating preschoolers.   Enjoy the rest of the school year!   Virginia McDonald
