April 29, 2019 2:58 pm Weekly Theme: Fairy Tales/ Nursery Rhymes Weekly Number: 1-20 Review Math Practice: Adding with 0,1,and 2. Ordinal Numbers   Hello Pre-K Families!   This week in Pre-K we will explore different fairy tales, and nursery rhymes. Some fairy tales we will read about and discuss are Rapunzel, Cinderella, The Prince and the Pauper, Little Red Riding Hood, and The Three Little Pigs. Nursery rhymes we will learn are Ba Ba Black Sheep, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Jack be Nimble, Hey Diddle Diddle, Jack and Jill, and Humpty Dumpty.   We will use themed based worksheets while learning about patterns, sequencing, classifying, and ordinal numbers. For science this week, we will do a “Humpty Dumpty” egg drop challenge. Students will fill their bags with different materials to support “Humpty Dumpty” from cracking when he is dropped. We will discuss force while conducting this experiment.   We will continue to complete addition problems while using numbers 0,1, and 2. The concept of adding with zero has become challenging again for some children. Please continue to review addition problems with your child at home.   Weekly Liturature: Little Red Riding Hood retold by, Trina Schart Hyman Rapunzel by, Paul O.
