April 8, 2019 4:25 pm Pre-K Highlights April 8th – April 12th Weekly Letter: A-Z review Weekly Theme: Weather & Storms Weekly Number: 1-20 / Addition with 0,1,2   Hello Pre-K Families, This week in pre-K we will continue to learn about space while also learning about weather and storms. We will discuss different types of storms including hurricanes, tornados, tsunamis, and daily weather words like sunny, rainy, snowy, partly cloudy, etc. Each morning we will fill out our weather chart, and at the end of the week we will graph the weather that occurred throughout the week. We will compare which weather we saw the most and the least. Students will create a rainy day craft, sing songs about the weather, and create pictures of “extreme” storms.   We have learned each letter of our alphabet. This week we will match which uppercase letters with their corresponding lowercase letters. We will also review proper formation of each letter.  Your child should be able to identify all upper and lowercase letters, to recognize what sound each letter makes, and to state at least one word that each letter starts with. If your child is still having trouble with this, we highly encourage you to practice at home daily.   During math this week, we will review how to properly form numbers 1 through 20. We will also continue to add with numbers zero, one, and two.   🖌This Thursday is the Art Festival/Open House. Please join us for after school fun from 5pm to 6:30pm. There will be spin art, tattoos, and much more! Bring your friends and their children! 🎨   Weekly Literature: Bears Busy Year by, Marcia Leonard The Wind Blew by, Pat Hutchins What Makes It Rain? by, Keith Brandt Sun up, Sun down by, Gail Gibbons The North Wind Doty Blow by, John Archambault What Makes the Seasons?
