Hello Pre-K families,
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We a great week exploring the seasons and continuing to learn about Spring. This week the class will keep their own weather charts for the week, continue to identify the four seasons and the different weather each season brings.We will continue to have our daily observation of our tree too… we are starting to see buds! (We’ve been observing it since October!) Please continue to review at home that we have four seasons, what they are; we have 7 days in a week, what they are; 12 months and what they are.
The overall theme of Spring will be continued throughout the rest of April. We will be receiving our caterpillars soon and our class has begun to learn about the metamorphosis. I’m looking forward to them observing this process for the next few weeks.
We also will continue to explore professional artists. We will add Jackson Pollock this week to our artists list. We will review that artists create paintings or sculptures and famous artists have their work in art museums. We will discuss if they have ever been to a museum and that an art museum is a building that houses famous works of art. We will then explore Jackson Pollock’s work and learn some fun facts about his childhood. Please have your child dress Monday(tomorrow) and Tuesday in clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting paint on. We will be busy painting our Pollack creations for our Art Festival.

Reminders:
- Letter Ss is due Friday or your child’s last day of the week
- Our Art Festival is on THIS Thursday, April 11th – 5:00-6:30. We will have our art gallery, games and crafts.
- Please send in an extra water for your child to keep in their cubby
- Please check your child’s cubby for change of clothes; some need fill-ins or season change.
- We will have a Spring party on Wednesday, May 1st. I will put out sign-up sheet the week of the 15th.
