Hello Pre-K Families!
This week in Pre-K we will be exploring the rainforest. We will learn about the different plants and flowers that grow in the rainforest, the four main layers that the rainforest has and some facts about the animals that live there. We will create a Dart Frog craft, a rainforest book and paint a colorful parrot. We will create a comparison chart between animals in our woods and animals of the rainforest.
Our letter of the week is Q. This week students will create a letter Q queen, paint with q-tips, build a q-tip tower and create a piece of a quilt. Students will learn how to properly form this letter as well as brainstorm words that start with q. We will dance to some Queen songs, hear a poem about a quail and stretch out our bodies with our letter q yoga cards.
The number we will be learning about this week is 19. We will talk about how the “one says teen and the nine says its name.” Students will be able to properly form this number on their own, and they will also recognize what a group of 19 things looks like. We will also continue with simple math problems while adding with zero, one, and two.
Friday, we have an in school assembly. Steven Woyce (aka The Turtle Man) will be coming to TCLA for a special performance about turtles. We will learn interesting facts about turtles and tortoises and we will also get to meet a few. 🐢
