Week of March 4, 2019
Our Theme- Celebrating Music and Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
This week we will wrap up our music theme. The children have enjoyed learning about Classical, Pop, Latin, and Country music. The children will vote for their favorite genre, and a special music party will take place at the end of the week. We will have so much fun investigating how different types of music make us feel, and express ourselves through various art mediums, using both our bodies and verbal expression. The children have been and will continue to work on their letter and number recognition, letter sounds, strengthening their fine motor skills, and identifying simple patterns. In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday we will share some of his great work and create some of our own rhyming stories in class.

Special News:
- If anyone would like to come visit or send in some St. Patrick’s Day treats (Irish soda bread, green bagels, cookies, etc) for a St. Patrick’s Day celebration next Thursday, 3/14 and/or Friday, 3/15 please let me know.
- Parent/teacher conference sign-ups are posted for those who would like one. These conferences are optional.
- Please return your child’s sleep bag at the beginning of the week.
- There are still openings to be a guest reader for those interested.
- The Turtle Man will be visiting next Friday, 3/15 at 10am. If your child does not attend school on this day, you are welcome to accompany them.
- Save the Date: Breakfast With Buddies will be held on Wednesday, 3/27 at 10:30am; details to follow.
- Please remember to check your emails regarding school closures/delays due to weather. You can also check the Turtle Creek answering or website for information.
