Pre-K Highlights
January 28th – February 1st
Weekly Theme: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Weekly Letter: Gg
Weekly Number: 14
Hello Pre-K Families!
This week we will be learning about how we can keep our Earth healthy. We will discuss ways to reduce utilities and how to reuse different things. We will also learn about what items we should be recycling. Towards the end of the week, we will be building with recyclables. Please bring in a bag for your child with a few different things to build with for Wednesday. These things may include empty water bottles, empty tissue boxes, toilet paper and paper towel rolls, etc.
Our letter this week is G. Students will learn about different words that start with G and how to write this letter as well. We will create a letter G garden, build a grape tower with toothpicks, sing a song about a giraffe, and create a groundhog on Friday for Groundhog Day.
During skill development, students will learn how to write both upper and lowercase letter G. We will also practice handwriting the number 14. Throughout the week we will recognize what a group of 14 things looks like. We will use a tens box to visualize that fourteen is one group of ten with four left over.
Please continue to review the sight words that your child is learning about in his/her reading group. We are very proud of their progress!
