January 22, 2019 4:09 pm Pre-K Highlights January 21st – January 25th Weekly Theme: Around The World Weekly Letter: Xx Weekly Number: 13   Hello Pre-K Families!   This week in Pre-K we will be “going” around the world to learn about a few different countries. Our class is studying India for Multicultural Night this Thursday. We will learn more this week about the different foods eaten in India, the clothes that are worn there, and some special celebrations that take place. The other classes in our school are studying Italy, Spain and the 7 continents. We will be exploring and learning interesting facts about both these countries as well.   Our letter of the week is X. Students will be practicing sliding movements while handwriting this letter. Students will create a new list of words for our word wall. We will discuss that there are not many words that start with x, but we will learn a few words that end with x such as box and fox. We will create a x-ray craft using baby powder, a letter x xylophone, and we will decorate a big box as a class.   Our reading groups have been going great! We are extremely proud of your child’s work, effort, and motivation to learn. Please encourage your child to practice their sight words that they are learning in their groups.
