Welcome Back and Happy Monday. Our letter this week is the letter I. Our theme is “Itsy Bitsy Spider.” The itsy bitsy spider is one of my favorite nursery rhymes growing up. Rhymes provide the perfect opportunity for introducing basic sequencing skills and hand coordination. For our art, the class will create a spider out of model magic. We will also paint a spider with watercolors. This week, during circle time, we will introduce the letter I and review the letters A-H. We will begin with naming things that begin with the letter I. We will brainstorming objects that are different shapes for examples; door – rectangle, square- window, rhombus/diamond- kite. Also, reviewing numbers 1-10, the calendar, colors, letters, and weather. The class has been doing phenomenal at the ABC Phonics song and recognizing the letters and the objects that correspond. Fine motor and listening skills will be strengthened through our art projects by: peeling and sticking, gluing, coloring and painting. We will work on sharing with our friends by taking turns. We will continue to encourage independence in our classroom by feeding ourselves, throwing away our trash and putting away our toys.
