November 19, 2018 7:28 pm Reviewing Letter:A-H Introducing letter:H Number: All Shape: All Color: All Theme: Thanksgiving –  Gobble Gobble   Hello parents!  Welcome Back and Happy Monday. Our theme this week is about Thanksgiving. The class and I will talk about what we are thankful for, what we will eat for Thanksgiving and our favorite food. We will have a Play Dough Thanksgiving Dinner. The children will use play plates, bowls, pie pans, and similar items in the play dough/housekeeping area to pretend to make a Thanksgiving dinner..   We will also have pictures of their favorite foods and have the children glue them on a paper plate.   This week, during circle time, we will introduce the letter H and review the letter A-H. We will begin with naming things that begin with the letter H, listing things that are triangle shaped, and brainstorming objects that are fall colors. We will also review all of our shapes, numbers 1-10, the calendar, colors, letters, and weather.   We will also continue to sing the ABC Phonics song. This will help the children recognize the letters and the objects that correspond.  Fine motor and listening skills will be strengthened through our art projects by: peeling and sticking, gluing, coloring and painting. We will work on sharing with our friends by taking turns.  We will continue to encourage independence in our classroom by feeding ourselves, throwing away our trash, and putting away our toys.   Reminder: Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Dismissal is at 12:00 unless you arranged with Lisa for after care services. Our Feast is on Wednesday.   If you have signed up to bring items in, thank you!!! Turtle Creek is providing the turkey and gravy. For those who haven’t done so, please bring in a family photo for our class wall. Our school website has all the  information about upcoming events and our school calendar. https://tcla4kids.com/ Please parents dress your child accordingly to the weather.   Literature for the week: Fall Harvest Bringing Food by Martha Rustard Five Little Pumpkins by James Dean When The Leaf Blew In by Steve Metzger The Fall Festival by Mercer Mayer Apple Farmer Annie by Monica Wellington The Biggest Leaf Pile by Steve Metzger   Regards, Miss Jenn & Ms. Priya
