Pre-K Highlights
Week of November 5th – November 9th
Weekly Letter: Tt
Weekly Number: 1-5 review
Weekly Theme: Community Helpers
Dear Pre-K parents,
This week we will be learning about different community helpers. We will discuss the importance of a community and the roles of multiple helpers. On Monday we will have a special visit from a local dentist and on Wednesday our community fire fighters will visit with their trucks. Students will have fun while learning through these two engaging visits.
Some of our activities this week include matching a community helper to their proper workplace and tools, creating our own doctor kit, coloring and finding sight words in a small community helper book, painting a tooth with a toothbrush, and creating a letter T train.
During skill development this week, we will learn how to properly form the letter T. Students will learn the sound this letter makes while creating a list of words that start with T. We will also review numbers one through five.
Reading groups will begin this week. A letter has been emailed to you from Mrs. McDonald explaining how our groups will work. You will receive a personal letter from the teacher your child will be with. Please continue to practice the skills we have learned with your child at home.
School is closed Thursday November 8th and Friday November 9th. Enjoy your long weekend!
