Mrs. Cappelluti Highlights
Week of November 5, 2018
Our Theme: The Little Red Hen and Harvest
As we continue to look at the beautiful Fall changes going on around us, we begin to discuss where the many foods we eat everyday have their beginning. We will talk about the process of planting, harvesting, and the final product. The story of The Little Red Hen will help teach the children about harvest, teamwork, and friendship. The children will ask and answer questions that we will chart in class. This week we begin to work on cutting with a scissor. We also continue our work with numbers and patterns; this is reinforced utilizing our wood block center and playing “pumpkin math.” This week kicks off our Students Change Hunger Challenge which introduces the importance of helping those less fortunate. There will be a collection box in our classroom through 11/21 which will be delivered to our local food bank. A dental visit, the firetruck, and a Diwali celebration are all part of our fun filled, busy week ahead!
