Pre-K Highlights
Week of October 29th – November 2nd
Weekly Theme: Halloween Fun
Weekly Letter: Hh
Weekly Number: 5
Happy Halloween Everyone!
This week in Pre-K we will be having fun celebrating Halloween as well as learning about the letter Hh and the number 5.
This week we will have fun carving a pumpkin and baking the seeds that we pull out. We will discuss the life cycle of a pumpkin seed and the steps we would need to take to grow our very own. During morning meeting on Monday, we will brainstorm a list of words starting with the letter H for our word wall. Students read an “Alphatales Letter Book” before our list is created. This helps them hear a variety of words for our specific letter.
Wednesday is Halloween! Our morning will start with some fun centers before morning meeting where will discuss Trick-Or-Treating safety rules to prepare them for the night. Have fun! Our parade will begin at 10:45. Please send your child to school wearing his or her costume. Please also send in a labeled bag with a change of clothes (if your child wants to change).
The rest of the week we will be building our fine motor skills with activities including finding letter H beads using tweezers, coloring a Halloween page that follows our story, creating a happy face collage with stickers, painting on the easel, using tweezers to get the fake spiders out of their webs, and cutting and pasting Halloween characters to complete our patterns.
