Hello Parents, and welcome back. First, I would like to thank you all for taking the time to sign up for our class Halloween Party. We are looking forward to it!
Our Theme this week is “Everything Autumn” including pumpkins.
Last week, the class and I went pumpkin picking in our school playground. The children had an amazing time picking the one they wanted. This week, we will talk about the color, shape and texture of pumpkins. I will cut one in half for the kids to see what a pumpkin looks like inside. This activity will both be a science lesson for children to understand the importance of seeds and a language arts lesson to help develop vocabulary and describing words. We will spend time decorating our pumpkins.
During circle time, we will introduce the letter F and review letters A, B, C, D and E. As always, we will begin with naming things that begin with the letter F, listing things that are oval-shaped, and brainstorming objects that are the color orange. We will also review all of our shapes, numbers 1-10, the calendar, colors, and letters.
The children have been learning the ABC Phonics song and have been doing an amazing job. They are starting to recognize the letters and the objects that correspond.
Fine motor and listening skills will be strengthened through our art projects by peeling and sticking, gluing, coloring and painting. We will work on sharing with our friends by taking turns. We will continue to encourage independence in our classroom by feeding ourselves, throwing away our trash and putting away our toys.
Reminder:
For those who haven’t done so please bring in a family photo for our wall in class.
October 31st- School Halloween Parade at 10:45 am. Send your children to school that day in their costumes. If their costumes will inhibit their participation in activities that day, we will remove some of the costume to make it easier for your child. Please wait outside in the front of the school so you can get some great pictures as we come by! We will not have our party on the 31st. The party will be on the 30th.
Class Halloween Party will be Tuesday, October 30th from 11-12. If your child does not attend on Tuesdays you are more than welcome to drop off at 11 and pick up at 12. If possible, please send your child in with a Halloween theme shirt or the color orange for our party.
Again, I would like to thank you all for signing up for our Halloween Party.
